Laureen completed a Bachelor of Science specialising in Chemistry and Mathematics and gained practical experience in the Mining Industry as a Scientist for 7 years. She joined Deloittes while completing her BCom CA and after working as an Audit Manager for a number of years, joined private industry as a Chief Financial Officer. In recent years, she has worked primarily as a Tax Accountant, and a Financial Officer for a junior mining company.

After several years working as a contract accountant, Laureen has taken an equity position at Paramount.
